This could be a Bad Ass Movie: “Sully” Shows The Untold Story of US Airways Flight 1549

Tom Hanks attempts to play Sully in a major Hollywood production…a pilot larger than life.

With summer in full swing, this is typically the time of year where movie fans look forward to the season’s blockbuster movies.  Unfortunately, many of the releases this year have already been duds.  Anyone up for Independence Day 2 with out Will Smith?  Anyone?  Me neither.

The summer of movie discontent might actually transition into a more fulfilling fall movie season though.  This September, Avgeeks will be able to look forward to the movie “Sully”.  By now we all know that Captain Sullenberger and First Officer Skiles successfully ditched an Airbus A320 into the Hudson with 155 souls on board. Miraculously, everyone onboard survived.

The movie is more than just the story of  US Airways Flight 1549.  This movie focuses more on what happened behind the scenes after the forced landing.  Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger faced intense questioning and second guessing.  He also dealt with PTSD from the incident.

“Sully” stars Tom Hanks and is directed by Clint Eastwood.  The movie debuts nationwide on September 9th.
